“O” by Cirque du Soleil is a landmark aquatic production performed in a custom theater at Bellagio in Las Vegas. Inspired by the concept of infinity and the French word “eau,” meaning water, the show follows Philemon into a surreal world shaped by his dreams, hopes and fears. Acrobats, artistic swimmers, divers, aerial performers and theatrical characters move through an ever-changing environment of water, fire, storms and elaborate stage machinery. Its centerpiece is a 1.5-million-gallon pool that allows the stage to transform rapidly between solid performance surfaces and open water. “O” premiered alongside Bellagio on October 15, 1998, and has since welcomed more than 20 million spectators. Audiences can expect 90 minutes of dreamlike visual storytelling, extraordinary athleticism, original music and theatrical spectacle without an intermission.
